Debugging tips for 3D wire forming machine
Debugging needs to be optimized in conjunction with molding effects, and the core techniques are as follows:
1. Parameter debugging
Feeding accuracy
When the length deviation exceeds ±0.5mm, first adjust the pressure of the feeding wheel, and then use the "feeding compensation" to make fine adjustments.
Feeding speed: hard wire rod (≥5mm) ≤50mm/s, thin iron wire (≤2mm) 80-100mm/s.
Bending angle
The angle is too small. Increase the rotation angle of the head (+1°-2°) to ensure that the gap between the mold and the wire is 0.1mm larger than the diameter.
For multi-segment cumulative error, add an "angle compensation segment" (each segment + 0.5°) to the program.
II. Mechanical debugging
Head coaxiality
If there is abnormal noise or deflection during rotation, loosen the fixing screws, adjust them to be concentric using a dial gauge, and then tighten them. Regularly clean the bearings and add high-temperature lubricating grease.
Smoothness of feeding
The wire is skewed. Adjust the guide sleeve to align it with the feed wheel and the entry of the turning head. If the feed wheel slips, polish the wheel surface or replace it with a patterned wheel.
III. Program optimization
Path inspection
The new program first undergoes a "simulated run" to check whether the path is consistent with the blueprint, in order to avoid overlapping bending points.
Complex parts are adjusted in stages: first, straight feeding; then, individual bending; and finally, assembly.
Corner transition
For the wrinkles at the corner, add "pre-feeding" (0.5-1mm) or reduce the rotation speed of the head (by 30%).
IV. Troubleshooting
Wire fracture: Loosen the feeding wheel or reduce the bending angle (e.g., for mild steel, single bending angle ≤135°).
Forming distortion: Calibrate the perpendicularity of the X/Y axes of the rotating head.
Cutting deformation: Increase the gap between the tool and the wire (0.2mm), or reduce the cutting speed.

Use "single step execution" for debugging, observing segment by segment.
After changing the wire material, the parameters need to be recalibrated, and do not use the old program.
